The main benefit of moving to the cloud is the cost saving. A new server today can cost tens of thousands of pounds, and then there is the energy costs of keeping it running 365 days a year! It’s quite a considerable saving when you consider the cost of energy today.
Not only are there considerably cost savings to be made, but the uptime and availability of cloud services is far better. You can access company data anywhere where you’ve got an internet connection!

Of course, there are still scenarios where you may still need a server in the office. This is generally when you might have an important business application that needs lots of local resources to enable it to perform to an acceptable level and it may not run well over your existing internet connection.

Why you shouldn’t use GoDaddy as your Microsoft 365 provider

Server 2012 R2 End Of Life
In October 2023, Windows Server 2012 R2 becomes end of life. Microsoft supports operating systems for a certain length of time.
When Microsoft stop supporting an operating system, it doesn’t mean your server will stop working, it just means that they stop trying to keep it secure.
Microsoft has a team of security specialists who work on their operating systems. When these security specialists spot any issues, such as a security flaw, a fix for that problem is produced and is then rolled out to the relevant servers. This is a critical part of keeping your IT safe.
When Microsoft‘s support ends for server 2012 R2, it means no more security updates.
This is not good for your business as it will have a higher risk of becoming a victim of a cyber attack.
