Henriksen Studio – Relocation to new office in Central London
Overview
We had been providing Henriksen Studio with our Managed IT Services for a number of years to their serviced office location in Central London. Effectively this meant the office they were using already had the connectivity they needed as part of the service of renting the offices.
Relocation to New Office
Henriksen Studio decided to relocate to a significantly larger office space that enabled them to grow and bring in additional employees. The office space already had CAT6 cabling installed around the office but a new internet connection and network infrastructure was needed. Both wired ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity would be needed.
Our Solution
We were tasked with supplying, configuring and installing a new high-speed internet and network solution. A new 1Gbps leased line service was ordered from an ISP but it was clear the connection would not be ready in time for when Henriksen Studio staff wanted to move in. Leased Lines usually have a 90 business day lead time and we were only 40 days away from when the client wanted to move in. We decided that a short term 4G solution would be needed until the new 1Gbps connection was ready.
We installed a Watchguard firewall/UTM device that not only provides some of the best security features that protect computer networks, but has the capability to utilise the 1Gbps internet connection along with cloud managed Ubiquiti network equipment that would provide the ethernet and Wi-Fi capabilities staff needed.
The 4G solution was then setup, installed and tested prior to staff relocating into the office. Although the 4G connection was quick enough it was not going to be comparable with the 1Gbps leased line service that went live only a few days after staff has relocated to the new office. We acted quickly to get the new 1Gbps connection linked to the new network.
Client Feedback & Conclusion
Only a few days after the leased line connection went live, feedback from the client was excellent – “The internet is working great so thank you for making this transition really easy.”
Office relocations can be stressful but we ensure we are one step ahead of any potential problems that can occur, so in this case, a short term 4G solution enabled the client to move in and start working immediately.
