Tonbridge Angels Football Club – Microsoft Office 365 Implementation
Overview
Over recent years, the club has undertaken a period of growth, with the aim of progressing higher up the football pyramid. New staff were appointed to take on the day-to-day running of the football club, whether that’s making sure the new artificial pitch was being fully utilised and booked up or the clubs Marquee venue was booked for events throughout the year.
Current IT Setup
At this point the only IT that was in place was an Internet connection with a Wi-Fi network setup across the facility. The football clubs’ email was setup using only receive only addresses so that email could be sent into the club using Tonbridge Angels addresses but when emails were sent out staff were only able to use their own personal email accounts.
It was also clear that a centrally backed up file and folder storage facility was needed to securely store football club data. Currently any data that was saved was stored on personal devices.
Our Solution
Along with providing laptops to staff, that are ongoingly monitored, protected and supported by us, we setup a new Microsoft 365 environment. This meant the football club could utilise business grade Exchange email so they could send and receive email using Tonbridge Angels accounts and that they were also able to store club data using OneDrive and a structured SharePoint setup.
It is important to remember that Microsoft themselves recommend customers backup the data stored on Microsoft’s servers, by utilising third party backup tools, so we also setup a cloud-to-cloud backup solution so that all club data is backed up regularly.
